The Victory Ride

"Chapter closed, destination reached. Now we can celebrate." -- These were the words of Purefoods' first 2-time Philippine Cup Champion Coach, Coach Ryan Gregorio as his Giants finally won, in a 4-0 sweep against the Aces, the KFC Philippine Cup Championship title after a roller coaster ride in the 18 games of the elimination round and playing 15 tiring games in the play-offs last March 3, 2010 at the country's basketball capital - the Araneta Coloseum. (Do you know that no team has played as many games in a conference as the Giants, who played 33 games?) Now, they finally have the bragging rights; they can finally be named as the best team in the land.

It was a night of odds and defeating the odds. In fact, the odds were against Purefoods; for the past 4 conferences, the teams to which the BPCs belong lose the game in which they were awarded as such. That night, "Big Game" James Carlos Yap was named as the KFC Philippine Cup's Best Player of the Conference. That was, sort-of, a jinx for them and as the game ended, James Yap said that he wanted to prove that "jinx" non-applicable to them.

Aside from being the BPC, James Yap was also named as the Finals MVP of this conference.

Words would never be enough, but I'd love to express my feelings for a few people. :]

* Chris Timberlake (31) & Jonathan Fernandez (12) - Though you weren't able to play, I'm sure that if you'd work harder, you'll get your break. Wait and see what the future holds for you. :) Good luck with your professional careers and I do hope that I'd see you both grow as players in the same squad.

* Rommel Adducul (10) - You're a great person and that's why God has given you another chance to live. I'm sure that He has plans for you and all you have to do is to wait for Him to unfold His plans. I'll be very glad to see you next conference as The General we have known and loved. :)

* Don Allado (41) - I'd be a liar if I'll say that I love you and that I'm your biggest fan. Though I'm not, I'm so proud of how you have grown as a player in PF. I also love how you show appreciation for your teammates and how you make the crowd roar during timeouts because of your funny antics. See you next confe! :D

*Jondan Salvador (61) - I just love you! =)) Need I say more? :)) Kidding aside, I'm so happy that, even though you were on the floor for very limited minutes, you were able to contribute for the team. The rebounds, the basket, the defensive moves, and the magnificent block made my larynx go tired. :)) I hope that PF would find a way to bring you back to the player you were before and that they'll always make you play. See ya! :)

*Niño Cañaleta (9) - I'm so happy that you were traded to PF! :D I never thought that you're a wonderful shooter in the inside and in the rainbow country. I'm super duper proud of you! PF has made you a better player than before. :) I'll be watching out for your possible entry to the Slamdunk Competition in the All-Star Weekend! :)

*Paul Artadi (11) - Mr. Energy and Play-maker! :) That's who you are to me. I'm so happy that they finally found a way to bring you back to the squad. I really love how you make everyone work their hardest when you're on the floor. You're the man! :) Practice more on your threes and everything's good. :)

*PJ Simon (8) - "Wala ng injury injury, finals na eh." I'm sure that that statement of yours touched the hearts of your Simonatics so much. All PF fans are surely so thankful that you played to the best of your ability despite the injuries. Hope that you'll be playing your best next conference once your injury's completely healed. Go Supersub!! :)

*Rico Maierhofer (1) - Though you're a rookie, that doesn't make you work less than the rest of your teammates and that makes all PF fans so proud and happy that you're part of this team. Your energy and momentum keeps the team and the fans alive every time you play. Congratulations on your first PBA Championship! :)

*Rafi Reavis (4) - At first, I have to admit, I didn't like the trade that involved you. But now, I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's very thankful to have you traded to PF. You work like an import! Minus the foul trouble, of course. :)) And that's what everyone likes about you. See you next conference!

*Roger Yap (13) - As PBA's site says, you're now playing your best game in 9 years. You're a great, great player and we hope that, somehow, you could extend your stay in the PBA and in Purefoods. :) Good luck!

*Kerby Raymundo (5) - Many games (more like referees) tested your patience and your professionalism. Yet, you showed everyone that your "anger" was righteous. :)) You made every PF fan proud by showing us your perseverance especially during the games' crucial moments. You really are a captain. :) Hope to see you receive MVP titles in the future! :D

*James Yap (18) - King, Man with a Million Moves, Big Game James. So many titles for one amazing player who has just won another Finals MVP and BPC title. PF is very very proud of you, James. 'Cause despite all the problems you face, the controversies thrown at you, you never ever give up and still play your very best. Congratulations! You deserve all the awards, praises, and love from your fans. :)

*Coaching Staff, esp. Coach Ryan Gregorio - Congratulations! So many people doubted your abilities, but you proved everyone wrong by outsmarting one of the best, if not the best, coaches in the PBA now - Coach Tim Cone. I'm so proud specifically of Coach Ryan Gregorio. Can I insult your haters now? :)) I've always been a supporter and now that you won your third championship for Purefoods, no one can ever blame you for anything. Good luck with your coaching careers and hope to see the complete staff next conference!

To end this, let me quote the Champion Coach, Coach Ryan Gregorio of the Purefoods TJ Giants who humbly said, "What makes this championship sweet is that this was close to impossible but we did it. It can be a preview of what life can be. We never gave up and we were rewarded." Again, congratulations to the whole Purefoods team! :)

Please also continue to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Former President Corazon Aquino and for each other as she has instructed us. You Just Can't Have Everything

Right after another historic Game 7 between the Beermen and the Ginkings, here I am, blogging. And because I'm too excited to share my thoughts, I don't have a picture yet. Haha. Anyway,

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SAN MIGUEL BEERMEN!

If you ask me, they totally deserve it. They started this conference BIG, leading the way with an 11-3 after the elimination round and taking the first outright semi-finals berth even though played without their main men who got injured. They did everything step by step, and being humble in every step of the way. They waited for 4 long years before taking another championship and that's tough for a team that everyone's expecting to win because of their supposed powerhouse lineup. They waited patiently for their players to recover while making other improved bench players play.

And tonight, the Beermen have proven that they still have what it takes to be called CHAMPIONS. They fought hard, they strived hard not to give up any easy baskets. They played hard even if more than half of the fans in the Big Dome were against them. They did their best to win for God, for their fans and for themselves.

Jonas Villanueva won the Finals MVP Award which was won by Eric Menk and Ronald Tubid last year. Well, he deserves it. He worked hard and maybe, just maybe, this is his season. He won the Most Improved Player award recently and now he's an MVP. Meanwhile, Coach Siot Tanquincen, Coach Jong's former mentee and the coach almost every SMB fan hated, was the man of the moment a while ago. Someone actually carried him on his shoulders while the coach was smiling and waving at everyone. Now, I wonder, where the hell are these haters?

Anyway, Ginebra, probably, did not win the title, even if they had the talent, because it's actually a lesson for everyone. YOU CAN'T HAVE EVERYTHING. They were hailed All Filipino Cup Champions last year, they bagged a couple of awards recently in the Leo Awards, and they have millions of fans! We can now apply the quote, "you can't have everything, where would you put it?" in this situation. Don't believe me? Let's look at the signs. Sunday Salvacion, known to be a shooter and not a defender, was shut off the game in the first quarter right? David Noel, known to be a consistent player was not able to hit the shots he's used to taking a while ago. Coach Jong Uichico, a great tactician, seemed to run out of ideas and strategies in the game's crucial moments. Maybe I'm being weird again but that's my opinion and this is my blog! :))

We can't bring back what's lost, no one can. Fans can't make their teams win by being bitter or by saying foul stuff about players and referees. To take things lightly, let's just reminisce on some funny lines (well, for me anyway) during the dugout interview by Magoo Marjon a while ago.

"Yung mga manok!" -- Mark Pingris, making fun of Danny I for greeting the people who take care of his chickens last game

"Babati ako, babati ako!" -- Danny Ildefonso, when his teammates were pouring beer on him

"MVP! MVP!" -- Beermen, cheering for Jonas

"Tama na, tama na!" -- Jonas Villanueva, trying to tell his teammates to keep quiet 'cause he probably can't hear Magoo's questions and can't answer to them properly

"Ang sarap maligo sa San Miguel beer!" -- Olsen Racela, as he gets wet by his teammates who were pouring beer on him.

Goodbye PBA for the meantime. :( See you next season! I'm sooooo excited, can't wait.. I wanna know about the draftees and trades now! Hahahaha. PBA, Atin 'to! Thanks for a great season!

Danny I says sorry, SMB extends series

Last night was the unforgettable Game 6 of the 2009 Motolite PBA Fiesta Conference Finals against SMB and BGK. The big dome was painted white last night with all Ginebra fans wearing white to show their support for their favorite team and in response to the instruction from Asst. Coach Allan Caidic. It was an extremely NOISY game, Ginebra fans cheering their hearts out especially when their favorite players made difficult baskets or long three-pointers.

Ginebra fans seemed confident, I heard a lot of people say that SMB will take their sad loss.. Hey, where are they now? Haha. Sorry, I'm not a biased fan.. I just hate it when fans become too overconfident for their own good. Anyway, SMB won last night. I have no idea how they won or when they started to take the lead. (*annoyed* was too busy to watch the game.) All I know is that they won and that Danny I was interviewed as the best player of the ball game.

The interview was wonderful though, I don't think any part of the game would top that. Danny I answered a few questions first but then, suddenly, things went to greeting his family members, all Ilocanos, and even those who take care of his chickens in his farm (according to my aunt, they own a farm). He said hi to his daughter Sophia and his 2 boys. (forgot the name! sorry) Later on he apologized to the fans saying that he's only human and commits mistakes. When he was being interviewed, I was teary-eyed. Dang, he's one of my PBA idols! When I watched him live for the first time last May, I couldn't help but clap and cheer my heart out even if I didn't know him that much! Also, I love him as a father, he's a great father.. I do hope and pray that his daughter gets well soon..

Danny has already expressed his sincere apology to Mr. Nervandez and to the fans, I hope that this issue will never be a stupid issue ever again. Some fans commented badly last night when he committed a grammatical error. I say, stop it! So what? Are you perfect? Even Americans who speak English each and every efffing second commit grammatical errors! To Mars with you! Maybe, just maybe, they're too bitter since their team wasn't able to take the Championship trophy last night. This is one of the things I hate about some fans, they always look for ways on how to embarrass a player. Oh whatever, what's done is done. Game 7 tomorrow, don't forget! Also, Powerade Team Pilipinas' first game on the 18th. And today is our first anniversary. LOL. (Macky and I) I got addicted to him starting July 16 last year.. Share! :))

Daddy Ryan G. and I have the same idea! (Oh please, don't ask me why I call him that.) This is exactly what I've been pointing out to fans with whom I had arguments with! Ok, people seem to think that Coach RG is a bad coach since PF has some of the league's most talented players still the team failed to make it to the Semis or the Finals in the last three conferences. They always put the blame on him, don't they? But this is what we, Coach RG and I, believe in:

“Talent alone is not enough to win games. Players must know their roles on the team. Otherwise, we will not succeed."

I was so shocked when I read his statement since we have the same point-of-view on the matter. Yes, they might have the talent but if they don't know their roles, they would never ever win championships. The players might have all the talent but it seems that they don't even know what they're supposed to do yet. It doesn't rely fully on the coach you know.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. PF has a lot of star players but that doesn't mean that they'll perform their very very very best every game.. Look, it isn't Coach's fault that players miss freethrows or whatever baskets ok? *sigh* As the PBFantasy promotion said, don't pick the players just because they've made their names famous in the league. Pick players who perform well but don't require that much money. It's a good example of what I'm saying. Yes, PF does have it's star players but that does not mean that everyone must expect them to be champions every year! THAT'S ALL.

People just don't believe facts, don't they? Ok. First off, I got the "inside stuff" from a friend's text message. At first, I didn't believe it that much.. Many don't until now. Some forum posts from Ginebra fans have a lot of questions like where did you get that Danny's daughter issue, etc, etc.. I was confused because of those posts! Danny I's daughter has been suffering from (I think) cancer. For that man to use that to try to distract Danny is just EVIL

Do you know that I'm quite a Richard Del Rosario fan? I always want him talking during the games. When I first listened to him, I laughed really hard at his jokes and antics. He's a really funny guy and I just looooove listening to him! When I knew about him being College of St. Benilde's head coach, I started watching their NCAA games (along with SBC's of course). Oh btw, do you know that he and Jondan Salvador had the same school? Anyway, I recently found out that he has a twitter account and started following him. The other day, I posted this tweet, hoping to get a response.

Danny I's explosion

Danny Ildefonso is one of the most respected active veteran players in the PBA today and seeing him that mad after Game 2 of the Finals against Barangay Ginebra at a fan would just make you feel shocked. He seems like this cool and calm guy and witnessing that scenario was just plain shocking. One would ask himself, what the hell did that fan do to make him that angry? Also, why was Mark Pingris, another fan-friendly type of player, also involved in that sitch?

Thanks to an info from a friend and from Ms. Patricia Bermudez-Hizon's blog, things were cleared. It seems that the fan, by the name of Ferdinand De Guzman Nervadez first taunted Jay Washington by saying vulgar words and the never-dying dirty finger. Seeing no success, this fan focused on Ildefonso by shouting, "Mamatay sana anak mo." We all know that his daughter has cancer and is one of the reasons why Ildefonso missed the 2009 All-Star Game. And any father who'd hear that statement would be totally and madly enraged!

I understand the side of those people who say that the two should have just let it pass but I guess I can side better with Ildefonso and Pingris. Come on! Put yourselves into Ildefonso's position, you're a father who's trying to make yourself stronger in facing these challenges, trying to be optimistic and just desperately praying for your child's health and betterment and now there's this jerk who shouts that at you? Oh my gosh, that's simply unforgivable for a dad.

About the penalties given? Damn, I hate to say this but I firmly disagree! After asking Danny and Mark to pay 30, 000 and 10, 000 respectively, they're gonna be suspended? Oh come on! The jerky fan wasn't even given any sanction, not even asked to stand and face the wall for a minute or at least suspended from watching the game due to his effffing behavior. Alright, I'm "quite" one-sided. So sorry, can't help but be one-sided! I just haaaaaaate what happened!

It's just shocking to find out that in one way or another, you're linked to a player. That's exactly how I feel. :)) Hmm, not that much but, somehow, yeah.

First link: My sister studies Math in Kumon while my aunt waits for her everyday. She talks to parents and guardians there while waiting so as not to get bored and one actually said that her son was PJ's friend before! Also, they lived nearby in Pasig (I think). She said that PJ gave them some Purefoods products before during Christmas. :)

Second link: My friend/schoolmate/ex-classmate came from an all-girls school. She and her sister studied there during her grade school years. According to her younger sister, Wesley's sister was her batchmate! She even said that she saw Wesley fetching her sister before. Aww. :)

Third link: Between Jondan and me, there is no link. =)) That's because we're just connected by nothing. We're connected but no one connects us. Get it? Oh right, I guess the link is my dad. Jondan lives in BF Parañaque (according to my sources) and we have guards there. :) Nice, right? If only my dad was supportive enough, I could've have his address by now!

That statement is actually from facebook. One of my fellow onliners asked Gov Pardo why Chandler was benched during the game's most crucial quarter. We all know why though, since Coach RG thought that he was acting like a brat; now, we know who instructed him. And through The Dean's article, we know the real reason behind Chandler's attitude that game. So, everything clear now? :)

Coach RG's gonna continue coaching the Giants, that's final. Well, at least this says so..

Purefoods board governor Rene Pardo told GMANews.TV that he instructed coach Ryan Gregorio to possibly trade one of its marquee players in exchange for a rookie that they can pluck out in the first round.

So, what's the reaction of PF fans? I'll quote a few.

I could go on, but I might end up throwing my laptop against the wall if I don't stop. So let me just leave with this parting shot, a quote from Ryan Gregorio at the beginning of the Fiesta Conference: "We had problems in scoring last conference. I hope with Allado and Canaleta on board, our inability to score can be addressed." Well, that didn't work. Maybe next time he could learn how to draw up a fucking play.

I would rather watch a barako bull againts coca cola , than PF powerhouse with the same old plays handled by a genius coach that was just hoping for luck every game.

My reaction? YEYYYYY! I've been fighting for Coach RG ever since the day that I became a PF fan. Why? I don't know either. I just feel for him everytime. Actually, I was attacked by many "PF fans" when I said my opinions on Coach Ryan. Sorry, I like him and I'm willing to be kicked out of a forum just because of defending him from weird fans, fans who say that they've been fans since '88? Well, again, I'm sorry 'cause I don't give a damn. It's not about how long you've been a fan of a certain team, it's how you support them. Here are some excerpts on the argument. There are so many more, but I'll just post the links. Anyway, I don't really expect that you'll even care but I just want to share this.

There was actually a time when I wasn't able to sleep well because of these efffffers. Dang, I don't know what else I could say except that I'm happy that Coach's staying. :D Come on, who wouldn't be happy if one of your inspirations' gonna stay doing what he loves? (He and Coach Ronnie are both from UP. They are the people who inspire me to try my best in the upcoming UPCAT.) Penny's Heroics Give Coke a "W"

Each and every team right now is trying to avoid being in the 9th and 10th spot in the team standings. Yes, unlike the past conferences, there won't be any eliminated team. But, then again, being "up there" will give a team a lot of advantage. Being in the top 2 means automatic semifinals berth. Being in the bottom 2 means a twice to win disadvantage. Last night's 2nd game was a significant game for both teams.

Coca-Cola, ranking 8th in the conference now, needed last night's game to avoid being 9th while the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters could've almost assured a semifinal berth if not for James Penny, Coke's import, who scored 30 points, the last three of which came from rainbow country with 1:42 left.

Every thing must be earned the hard way as they say and last night was really hard for both teams; so hard that they even needed another 5 minutes just for a team to win. Overtime, my friend. They needed overtime. And how did that happen? It was all thanks to Penny of Coke and Sol Mercado of Rain or Shine.

Just when the Tigers were near to losing at 81-83, with five seconds left, their import came to their rescue, hitting a three-pointer and was fouled while making the shot. He, then, calmly took the bonus free throw which made them on top by 2 points. Problem was, at the other end, Sol Mercado was fouled by Alex Cabagnot. Due to the penalty situation, he took 2 free throws, both went in. CCT had another chance to win the game within regulation but Mark Macapagal missed the shot which ended regulation at 85 all.

It was almost a double overtime but Penny did not allow it. The game ended with CCT leading by 3, 94-91. We still have to give credit to Jai Lewis though who had 30 points and 22 rebounds and Nic Belasco who had a very quiet 17 points.

Because of ROS' loss to CCT, it's conference record is now at 8-6. They are now experiencing their franchise's first ever final four appearance. They have a slim chance for the semifinals berth if supposing that Ginebra loses its last 2 games. Meanwhile the Tigers is still in the race with Alaska in avoiding the 9th spot.

All-Star Skills Competition

I had a great time watching the All-Star Week! It was my first time, you know. I've watched an All-Star Skills Competition but that was in the NBA (the most recent one). So, you'd expect me commenting on everything once again. :)) I'd say that the whole thing was nice, not flawless though. In the 3pt shoot-out, Larry Fonacier ran out of basketballs which forced him to try the whole thing again. In the slamdunk competition, a few players missed dunks. Kelly Williams, the defending Slamdunk Champion wasn't able to show up due to food poisoning. :( Ah well, what's done is done. Finally, I was able to replace my freakishly green layout! :) This is great. :) Sadly, I spent about an hour picking the layout, half an hour in trying if they'll work, half an hour in looking for some more sites with more user-friendly layouts, and another half hour in changing stuff in the new layout, all because of my uber slow computer. :\

Anyway, I'm busy with my review (for college entrance tests) right now. The review's actually one of the reasons why I haven't updated the blog yet. Also, my CPU needs more memory. I have soooo many files here and all of them (well, for me) are important. I haven't found a computer repair shop nearby yet so, most unfortunately, I won't be able to do something about this yet. :(

This week is actually our 2009 Motolite PBA All-Star Week. :) Tomorrow will be the first of three games this week, it'll be between the North All-Star Team + selected imports and the Powerade Team Pilipinas. The game will be in Victorias City in Negros Occidental. I'm encouraging, no, forcing, everyone to watch! :)) It will be a good challenge for the RP Team and I hope that they'll be able to prove themselves tomorrow.

Burger King traded some players with 2 teams under the San Miguel Corporation, Purefoods and Ginebra. The team gave Cyrus Baguio and Homer Se to get 2 future draft picks to be drafted in 2010. They also exchanged Celino Cruz with Aaron Aban of PF. Fans have a lot of things to say about this trade. Burger King fans protested even if the management can't hear them. Their stand on the trade? Why trade Baguio and Celino? Why get Aaron Aban? Well, I'd say, those questions are for Coach Yeng Guiao and BK's management to answer. We'll have to see what these players can do tomorrow. Nonetheless, I'd say that the trade was a complete surprise and was very shocking. Ginebra fans have expressed their happiness in the Baguio addition to their lineup.. Question is, what about Homer Se who has done "some damage" to their players in the 2008 Fiesta Conference Championship Series?

I have a picture that's more informal than this pero akin nalang yun! Baka mamaya agawin nyo pa. :)) I don't know when I actually noticed this guy 'cause I just started cheering for him while watching. Hehe. I really like him y'know. As in.. Naalala ko tuloy nung battle for third. Super bitter ko kasi natalo ng Sta. Lucia ang San Miguel. I actually cheered for San Miguel that time because of Wesley, not because I like San Miguel as a team. Sayang kasi.. Eh di sana si Wesley yung best player nun. Haay. Kabitter! Eh di sana siya yung masaya at "savior" nila nun, hindi si Dennis Espino. I have nothing against Espino pero maka-Wesley talaga ako eh! Ever since I found out about "The Green Mile Issue," si Wesley naging crying shoulder ko. (waah, feeler. wish ko lang.) Basta, sa kanya ata napunta lahat ng attention ko for Jondan? Hahaha. Grabe, sabi kasi sa inyo natraumatize ako dun sa movie na yun! *goosebumps* It's not a horror movie, guys and girls. It's actually about God. Problem is, you're gonna witness the death of some innocent people in prison. Yung pinaka naging problema ko sa movie na yun is yung pinabayaan ni Tom Hanks (kung ano mang name nya sa movie) na mamatay yung big man na nagpapagaling ng may sakit using his God-given powers. Gosh, I'm going off-topic again! :)) Basta, made my point. I love Wesley Gonzales! :) Believe it or not, boto ang lola ko sa gusto ko. :)) Gwapo nga daw eh. Hahahaha! There's a PC game called PBA Live! It's similar to NBA Live but, instead, you're players will be our very own locals. The game is available for downloading in pbalive.panelo.com/home.php If it doesn't work, don't blame me. I haven't tried it yet. I'm really sorry, I still don't have a speedy computer..

Wesley Gonzales, tonight's best player of the ball game, is already 28 years old! Please don't blame me for thinking he's younger, admit it, he looks young! Yah, yah, I have my mistake. I was ~~stupid~~ enough to think that he was a draftpick for 2008. I haven't been watching SMB games before and cannot remember Commissioner Sonny Barrios announcing SMB's chosen rookie.. Well, I watched one MBM (yes, magnolia at that time) game which was against Purefoods in the 2008 Smart Fiesta Conference Eliminations but I think I did not see him. I knew about his existence just last conference. So, please, bear with me for thinking that he's just 24. At least I now know that he's 28 and born on July 27, 1980.

Tony dela Cruz probably has the same injury as Jeff Cariaso! Omg. That's a total disaster. I have to be honest. The only player I love from Alaska is Tony and he suffered an injury a while ago in a game against Purefoods. He had 20 points. And it's really sad that his performance had to end that way. I do hope he's okay..

Yay, so happy. I'm gonna be posting again! Thank God for the early vacation. Well, it's quite late but I wanna post because I found out about something shocking and I wanna share it here.

As I was looking for my list of urls of people I wanted to add as friends in friendster (notepad), i accidentally clicked a file entitled "Facts on Purefoods." I saved this file about 3 or 4 months ago when I copied it from cw4pf.org but haven't read it thoroughly yet. So, I read it this evening and found out about something shocking..

Do you guys know about the movie "The Greenmile" starring Tom Hanks? I had my worst nightmare because of that movie. I first watched it with my parents and after the movie, I had my first taste of sleeping at 3 am. I couldn't sleep that night because I was so scared of the movie and because of goosebumps. I was able to sleep at 3 am yet woke up again because of a nightmare about the movie. I was still in gradeschool then.

What's the connection, you might ask. Well, the big connection and the BN of tonight is actually that Jondan and I are simply opposites! I just found out that his favorite movie is The Greenmile. Yah, thanks to that saved file. Gosh. How painful...

Gregorio beats Garcia, at last.

Ever since Coach Caloy Garcia took over the Elasto Painters, Purefoods has never won against the said team. As Mico Halili said, "He is the only coach he has not beaten yet." And yes, it is true. I started watching the PBA in 2008, during the Philippine Cup Championship Game 3 between PF and SLR. I continued this passion for PBA and ever since I started watching, I never saw Purefoods win over the franchise. As we all know, Rain or Shine was formerly known as Welcoat and during the 2008 Fiesta Conference, the team won only 4 games in the entire conference, 2 of those games were won against the Giants. Last Conference (2009 Philippine Cup), Purefoods suffered the same feat, losing 2 games against Rain or Shine in 2 Thursdays.

But, this time, the tables were turned. However, turning the tables was pretty hard for the giants as the first half ended with the Giants' 5 point lead at 45-40 and with a total of 8 lead changes. Since the venue was not airconditioned, both imports were not dominant in the game. Because of that, the locals had to work extra hard to win; especially the locals of Purefoods because their import, Brian Hamilton, got ejected early in the 3rd quarter due to a flagrant foul penalty 2 against Rob Wainwright. Good thing that Kerby Raymundo, Don Allado, James Yap, and PJ Simon stepped up and brought in points for the Giants while Al Vergara, the former import for the Singapore Slingers, brought the energy and the momentum that lifted their all-Filipino lineup. They actually did very well. They had a 15-2 run against ROS and had 29-11 turnover points even without Hamilton.

Although the 4 were very active for their team, 3 people from Rain or Shine also had the "hot hands" for shooting field goals; namely, Gabe Norwood, Sol Mercado (who was suspended in their last game), and Don Dulay. Norwood had three 3pt fieldgoals, Mercado had 11 points (6 in the 2nd qtr?), and 4 shots from rainbow country went in for Don Dulay. Their import, Charles Clark, had 12 points and was not given much playing time in the second half. While they enjoyed knocking shots in, one guy remained unfortunate and that was Jireh Ibañes who had 5 misses in a row. (?)

So, how did Purefoods win without their import? Well, they had the momentum, they showed that they "had the bigger heart" as Don Allado has said. It was a very hard-earned win as Purefoods had to win it without their import like in Coke's 1st win against Barako Bull. Actually, it was more difficult for them since they weren't able to win it in regulation; the game was sent into overtime with the score of 87 all. This is due to the missed freethrows by Wainwright and missed buzzerbeater by James Yap.

Nonetheless, the game was for Purefoods and Purefoods alone. The momentum was completely in their favor in the overtime period. Simon had 5 straight points while Roger Yap and Allado knocked in 3 straight charities. The game ended with an 8 point lead for the giants at 102-94.

God's Perfect Timing: A Simple Story

In basketball, time is always of the essence. There are shotclocks, game clocks, 24 second violations, 3 second violations, and so many more stuff on time. Players are not perfect, they violate rules on time during games and don't have the right timing during passes but God, definitely, is perfect. He doesn't commit mistakes. He does everything in the right time. Let me share an excerpt on my simple story, my very own experience on God's perfect timing. Read on, you'll see how it relates to my blog's concept.

"Nakabili na ko ng cake! Grabe kahapon ko pa gustong gusto bumili. As in, talagang naluha ako nung nakita ko yung dami ng tao sa Goldilocks! Pero ok lang pala. Kasi kung nakabili ako kahapon...'di sana hindi ko SIYA nakita!!!! :D Ang saya saya ko dahil nakakita ako ng player kanina.. Second time ko na siya nakita in person but he never fails to put a smile on my face. He comes from my favorite team. Mas gwapo pala siya sa personal and sa malapitan. :) Nakita ko siya sa gonuts donuts while on the way to Goldilocks. Grabe, nanlamig ako. If I was my usual self kanina, nakapagpapicture siguro ako. Nagkatitigan pa nga kami ng mga 2 seconds siguro. Natunaw ako. :)) I wanted to stay there and buy donuts kaso cake nga pala yung gusto ko! When I went out, nainis ako sa bagal sa bakeshop. Ang bagal ng cashier. Nainis ako kasi feeling ko wala ng chance na makita ko siya after kong bumili. :( Paglakad ko going back to the supermarket, nakita ko siya sa KFC! He was talking to someone over the phone. Sobrang asteeg kasi.. super unexpected! Sana makita ko siya ulit.. Ayy, hindi ko pa pala nasabi kung sino. I'm talking about Jondan Salvador who wears jersey # 5 and plays for the Purefoods TJ Giants. :)

Woah. What a day. Ang masasabi ko lang is that magiging mabait ako for a week or more.. Sobrang gandang coincidence kasi yung nangyari eh and parang thanksgiving kay God dahil He made me realize more and more na may reason nga pala for everything and that good things do come in time basta andyan si God. Simple nga siguro yung nangyari pero at least napasaya niya ko while teaching me a lesson. ANG GALING TALAGA NI GOD!"

If there's one thing I'd like at this very second, that is for my blog to be the first result when a person types in "Jondan Salvador." How can I even do that? I have no idea at all! I really don't know. I've got nothing in my mind right now except NOTHING. :)) Well, because I can't think of any other way that my blog will be Jondan-influenced, I'll just post pictures of him here. :) Pictures were searched throughout the "online world" thoroughly. All awkward, weird, super handsome pictures will stay with me though. I don't want people seeing things I wish to see alone. :)) Hmm.. But right now, I don't think I want to share pictures yet. Hello, 2009 Motolite Fiesta Conference! :]

This also meant hello imports! Wee, so happy to see my favorite players again. :] First game was against the Burger King Titans and the Sta. Lucia Realtors in Dumaguete. I'm so freakingly scared of Anthony Johnson, Sta. Lucia's import. He's so good! Yeah, but weird enough, the Titans won even if their import wasn't that good to rely on. (sorry..) Well, I guess they used their combined powers; they meaning the locals. And, of course, they won because of the great strategies from their tactician, former RB coach, Coach Yeng Guiao. It felt so great seeing Chad Alonzo (former Giant) playing and looking hotter. ;)) Also felt nice seeing Cyrus Baguio (former RB star) scoring with double digits and seeing Beau Belga (also a former Giant) contribute for Burger King. So yeah, BK won. It was a close fight and a great one. I'm soooo looking forward to future games! :)

I' m looking at a picture of one of the people I admire most. I love looking at his picture, I feel like I' free from all the pain because of his smile that seems pain-free. I love Jondan Salvador. Corny no? Senxa na, nagmamahal lang. xD Kasi naman, bitter ako ngayon because I was told by a POL-iner (from pba-online.net) told me that he's going to be in the reserved list together with 2008 Purefoods' Draft Pick Jonathan Fernandez.

The former Davao Montaña player and PBL MVP captured my heart in the 2008 Philippine Cup Game 3 of the Championship. Please, don't ask me why. I don't know either! He was one of the first players I noticed in the PBA, ever, together with James Yap since I already knew him as Kris Aquino's husband at that time. I was watching this new program and it was so different from what I watched before. It was PBA, a show for basketball fans and I never was one! Yet, there I was, watching. Then, I saw that tall player, that tall handsome player in his jersey which bears the number 5. From then on, I was encouraged to watch PBA.

I watched other games and all I did was to look for that familiar man, that Salvador. He was the one who brought me to this love for the Philippine Basketball Association, along with his wonderful teammates. Now, here I am, not knowing what to feel because of this sad sad sad news. He brought me to my obsession and now, he's just gonna be reserved? I never knew what a reserve does until today, when I asked a poliner to explain it to me. He can be taken by any other team without any player to replace him? Gosh, doesn't that show how the team has taken him for granted? I was hurt, that's a fact. It's all pain and sorrow and sadness. However, there's some part of me that says, "Hey, it's ok. He's injured. He'll need some time to bring back his skills." Yet, you can't prevent thoughts like "How will I see him again? It's not like he goes to SM Southmall everytime I go there. What if he won't play ever again?" go inside my head.

I feel bitter, that's all. The essence of this post is actually to remove the bitterness by writing about my feelings right now.

Here I am, looking at the picture of that man again.

It was a magical February 11, 2009 for the Talk N Text Tropang Texters and the Alaska Aces in the Big Dome, the place where many lives were changed (including Patricia Hizon's), the Araneta Colosseum. It was, at last, the finals.. It was Game 7, finally! Alaska was probably very very frustrated when it lost Game 6 on February 8.

It was a great battle from the beginning. Shots just rained from both teams. But, I guess, it was Talk N Text's perseverance that made the Aces bow. The team has a lot of new comers, a lot to learn, so little experience compared to Alaska's veterans. How did these youngsters win then? Maybe, just maybe, they were more challenged than the Aces. For example, a quizbee champion would think of her young opponent as inferior and not as a threat while the latter would be challenged by her competitor, right?

I'm not saying that Alaska is a non-persevering team. Maybe, it was just TNT's time to shine. It was destiny and hardwork that brought them from second to the lowest to second; otherwise, Miller and Devance (not sure!) would not have missed 4 consecutive freethrows in the games' critical seconds (i think). Otherwise, Coach Chot Reyes would have not defeated the strategies of the more experienced Coach Tim Cone.

Let me say this, I'm very very happy for TNT. They deserve the championship after all they've been through. Macmac Cardona deserves the Finals MVP title after all the boos he had to endure. Alapag, Carey, Peek, Castro, Dillinger, Ritualo, the de Ocampo Brothers, and the rest of the gang deserve the championship after all the pain and things they did for the team. I'm not bitter at all!

I guess I have fallen more and more deeply in love with PBA as a whole. To be honest, I don't have a team anymore. Pasenxa na, Jamships and mga Kaparokya, but I guess it's parting time. I don't want to be dishonest with you guys, but, I can't also be dishonest with myself. I love all teams, all players with the exception of those who hurt others intentionally. I'm happy with this mentality that I have right now. Masaya ako na inaappreciate ang galing ng LAHAT ng players, no matter where they come from. Sabihin ng balimbing ako or what, pero wala akong magagawa kung ramdam ko na mahal ko ang buong PBA di ba?

Another thing, I'm happy for my schoolmates! A big round of applause for Pong Escobal, Yousif Aljamal, LA Tenorio and Renren Ritualo who stayed in San Beda during their college/highschool days. Thank you for, once again, bringing pride to our Alma Mater.

Championship means "see you later, PBA." I thank PBA, as a whole, for another wonderful conference. I'll gladly yet impatiently wait for the upcoming 2009 Motolite Fiesta Conference with my hopes of seeing the likes of Simon, Salvador, Dela Cruz, Mercado, Dillinger, Baguio, Yap, Raymundo, Salvacion, Menk, Macapagal, Gonzales, Reyes, Norwood, and others play again. I'll wait for the chance of seeing The General, Rommel Adducul play for the Giants as well as the chance of rating the performances of new players and traded ones.

Cardona's fans think so too. Actually, many people are still wondering why the tactician did not choose Captain Hook. Well, I'm sure he has his reasons. We just have to find out.

3. ALASKA SHAKES OFF SMB FOR SOLO LEAD
Devance, Tenorio get job done for Aces

ALASKA got an early Christmas present after taking the game that was supposed to be played on Christmas Day.

The Aces' defense held on when San Miguel Beer tried to mount a comeback as they posted a thrilling 91-85 victory to grab solo top spot Saturday night in the 2008-09 KFC PBA Philippine Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Joe Devance and LA Tenorio came up with huge plays in crucial moments when the team's reliable closer Willie Miller could not get the job done to survive San Miguel's uprising in the last six minutes of the contest.

"It's always a thrilling feeling when you beat a quality team like San Miguel Beer and the guys did a wonderful job on the defensive end," said Alaska head coach Tim Cone, whose team controlled the game from start to finish.

"To beat San Miguel, all the five guys on the court must play alert defense and tonight, we achieved that," Cone added.

Miller finished with 20 points but was held to just a single point in the fourth period. The two-time MVP also committed seven of the team's 24 turnovers in the game.

Luckily for the Aces, Tenorio and Devance were in their elements and showed poise down the stretch to escape with the victory.

Tenorio added 18 points and eight assists while Devance chipped in 15 markers, including a crucial putback off the missed jumper by Miller.

Alaska was comfortably ahead at 84-72 with 4:52 mark when Lordy Tugade and Olsen Racela fired back-to-back three-pointers that started a 10-0 blitz to move within two, 82-84, with 1:19 left in the game.

But Devance delivered the dagger as he followed up Miller's 15-foot jumper to make it 86-82.

Anthony Washington's three-pointer rimmed out in the next play and Tony de la Cruz was sent to the free throw line by Custodio for a split to make it an 87-82 lead with 35.7 ticks remaining.

Tenorio added a split after Washington was whistled for a technical foul for second motion, 88-82.

Dondon Hontiveros drilled a three-pointer to threaten anew at 85-88, 25.3 seconds left. After a split by Miller, 84-88, San Miguel had another chance to move closer but Washington lost control of the ball.

"This game was supposed to be played on Christmas Day but because of the Singapore game, they had to move it earlier and I thought this was an early Christmas present for us," said Cone.

Custodio had a career-high 20 points for the Beermen while Hontiveros chipped in 16.

Dorian Pena added 12 markers while Lordy Tugade had a quiet game with 11 and was 4-of-10 from the field. Washington chipped in 10 but was 0-of-5 from behind the arc.

PF vs. RB: the Sequel

It was just any other day in everyone else's life, probably. But for James Yap and the Purefoods Squad, it was the opposite of an ordinary day. It was a huge win for them against the Barakos and it was won the hard way. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the wonderful first meeting on the 8th of October live and the second meeting was not boring either. PF enjoyed a good time with an 11 point lead with about 7 minutes remaining. Sadly, they went scoreless for about 3 minutes and the Barakos woke up from slumber. They had completed a 13-0 run and led by 2.

James Yap, a born 3-point shooter, led his team to a 10-0 run which removed RB's hopes of winning. He had a game-high 27 points, having shot 11 field goals out of 16 attempts which includes 5 out of 8 from rainbow country. Kerby Raymundo, who just came from sickbay, and Enrico Villanueva had 14 points while former RB player Topex Robinson had 4 assists and 4 steals.

It was Gabby Espinas who stepped up for RB. He had a career-high 21 points while his teammate, Larry Rodriguez, chipped in 12 points for the Barakos who now have a win-loss card of 4-5.

Both teams played badly in the game's first half. Poor shooting and a combined 25 turnovers from both sides were the half's features.PF shot 34% from the field while RB shot 35%. PF finished the game with 25 errors overall, one more than RB.

Purefoods Team Coach Ryan Gregorio said that it is hard for his team's depleted line up to play efficiently. PJ Simon and Roger Yap are still out on sickbay as of the moment.

Talk n Text coach Chot Reyes said they haven't figured out yet how to play 48 full minutes and this is the reason why they're below the .500 mark halfway through the KFC PBA Philippine Cup elimination round.

Reyes said that's the case even in their won game against Barangay Ginebra Wednesday night at the Astrodome.

The Tropang Texters came out flat before picking up their game in the second period then pouring it on in the last two quarters on the way to a 103-90 win over the Kings.

"We have yet to play a complete game this season even in this victory. We have to find a way to play 48 minutes to be in contention in this tourney," said Reyes.

"That's the drawback of having a deep bench with players who have yet to groove their game together. In our game against Purefoods, we played very well in the first 46 minutes only to flounder in the last two minutes. May game na maganda ang laro ni Jimmy Alapag at Yancy de Ocampo, hindi naman maganda ang kay Jason Castro at kay Don Allado. Ngayon baligtad at hindi talaga magkasabay-sabay ang ganda ng laro," Reyes further explained.

Reyes said a combination of their bad defense and Ginebra's torrid shooting enabled the Kings to dominate the game early, getting a 36-16 bulge in the first three quarter.

"All throughout, ang usapan lang namin huag kaming mawalan ng loob. Good for us, we got our game going in the last three quarters," said Reyes as they ended their three-game skid.

Mark Cardona came through with a personal season high of 32 points to pace the Tropang Texters who dealt the Kings a sixth loss against three wins.

Harvey Carey put in a double-double performance with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Don Allado, Jared Dillinger and Jimmy Alapag chipped in at least 15 points each.

Ronald Tubid, Junjun Cabatu, Jayjay Helterbrand, Sunday Salvacion and Willy Wilson all finished in double figures for the Kings, still struggling badly minus injured key players Mark Caguioa, Junthy Valenzuela and Rafi Reavis.

Talk n Text came out flat but got into the groove in the second quarter, charging to within six, 49-55, at halftime.

After a long chase, the Tropang Texters seized the upperhand at 57-55 by scoring the first eight points in the final half.

The Tropang Texters had made it a 10-to-nothing run before the Kings, returning from a timeout, ended their spell on a three-point play by Willie Wilson off a foul by Jimmy Alapag with already over four minutes into the third quarter.

Even then, there was no more stopping the Tropang Texter, who twice enjoyed a 17-point lead in the second half.

The Tropang Texters converted 63.6 percent of their shots as they hit their strides to get into the game in the second period. (NC)

Loss of Kerby is too much.

The Purefoods TJ Giants had proven it can hold on even without PJ Simon and Roger Yap. However, the loss of the team captain, Kerby Raymundo, is something too much for the team to handle.

Alaska won against the depleted lineup of Purefoods, 95-80, to stretch its winning streak to three regain solo league leadership in this conference.

“You take away LA, Sonny and Joe, and it would also be so difficult for Willie. They lost a lot minus Simon, Yap and Kerby. It’s really very difficult for them to compete with the lineup they had,” said Alaska coach Tim Cone.

Even the coach was impressed with the team's energy at the beginning of the game. Yet, he was quite confident that they'll be able wear the Giants down.

The Aces coach admitted that they were not aware that Kerby’s out until about six minutes of the game and when they did, they concentrated on guarding James Yap who actually had 2 straight games with 30 plus points. Beau Belga, the rookie, led the Giants with 16 points.

Guiao-less RB loses against Reyes-less SLR

With Coach Yeng Guiao in the U.S., looks like Red Bull is having a hard time. The team is now with a 3-5 win-loss card and under Gee Abanilla for the mean time.

In this game, the veterans of Sta. Lucia led the way. The team went back in the game after a 19-point third quarter deficit. Dennis Espino and Marlou Aquino combined for 11 points in the fourth quarter and Espino finished with 17. Paolo Mendoza, another veteran, finished with 14 points.

For Redbull, Gabby Espinas had a career-high-tying 20 points and 13 rebounds, Jeff Chan finished in double figures for the first time with 15 and Cyrus Baguio and Carlo Sharma had 13 and 10, respectively. But all of this faded in the latter part of the game which is quite disappointing since the team dominated at first.

The game ended with 83-80 in favor of SLR.

Tangkilikin ang sariling wika!

Yan, Tagalog tayo! :) Anyway, game kanina sa Lucena, Quezon. It was PBA on tour. First game was Rain or Shine vs. Air21. Won't tell who won. Watch the replay. :)) Second game was Ginebra vs. Coke.

I'll talk about the second game, ok?

So, basically, nung start ng game, Ginebra was ahead. Actually, the first half ended with Ginebra being ahead with 17 points. Tapos yun. Nagising ata ang CCT before the halftime ended.

Nung fourth qtr, sobrang dikit na ng laban. A lot of timeouts were called. A lot of fouls were given. In the end, Jayjay Helterbrand made the shot which was the game's turning point. The "Never Say Die Team" won. :)

The score was 77-81 in favor of Ginebra. Best player was Jayjay Helterbrand with 28 points. :)

Magtatagalog muna ako ah.. Haaay... I'll share some stuff first. Una, inasar ako ng inasar dahil sa pagkatalo ng Ginebra nung Sunday. Second, mas inasar ako ng inasar since kahapon dahil sa pagkatalo naman nung Wednesday. Grabe. Sa sobrang asar ko, may inaway ako.. Jamships, si "kapal muks" po ung inaway ko. Air21 kasi siya. Parang nanalo sila eh no.. Haha. Nainis talaga ako kasi lagi niyang binibring up.

Katatapos lang ng game. Purefoods vs. Talk N Txt. Sus ko. Hindi na nakapahinga ang puso ko! Grabe.. kapagod sumigaw, tumili, mag reklamo, tumayo kasi hindi ko kayang umupo sa kaba. Naka 3 baso ako ng tubig, puno. Record na yun. :))

Tapos biglang nawalan ako ng pag-asa. Kasi siyempre, konti nalang yung time tapos two digits pa ung lamang. Tapos un. Ewan ko. Bigla nalang nakabawi ang PF. Si James nagtres! Tapos naging 87-86 yung score. Nag timeout si Coach Ryan G.

Nung timeout, walang ibang sinabi si Coach kundi "James.":)) nung game, eto ang napakaunexpected na nangyari.

Nagkapasahan. Si Kerby, tinry magshoot kaso hindi pumasok. Nakuha ni Villanueva ang rebound, nagkaagawan ang 2 taga-TNT at si Chico Lanete. Nagshoot si Chico, 1 sec nalang.. PASOK!

Shaming talaga. Siya yung unexpected person na gumawa nun. Everyone expected James to do it. Kung hindi siya, si Kerby siguro. Tapos biglang si Chico Lanete na ang bida sa game! :) Si Coach Ryan G. naman, nagmukhang bata sa kakatalon! Buong PF pumunta kay Chico. Yan talaga ang PF eh, isang brotherhood talaga. Success ng isa, success ng lahat. Kaaway ng isa, kaaway ng lahat. :)

Ininterview sina James at Chico. I think pareho silang best player. James had 30 points and 5 rebounds. Si Chico naman, 24 points and 6 rebounds. :)

Ang saya ng game. SOBRA! hindi ko kinaya yun! Sobrang nanginginig na kaya ako nun! Buti nalang hindi agad ako kumain. Or else nagchoke siguro ako or something. :))

Bukas naman, game ulit ng Ginebra vs. Coca-Cola. As usual, kinakabahan ako. But I know na kaya nila. I have confidence in both BGK and PF kahit kinakabahan ako. Nasa sistema ko talaga yun eh. Pero manalo matalo, I don't blame anyone. :)

The Never Say Die Team

Just visited to post something.. :)

While typing, I can hear the commentators, Ed Picson and Richard del Rosario. It's the first game, RB vs CCT. Next comes Alaska and my Ginebra. :)

Ginebra's stat now is quite sad for me. 2-3... I wanted an 18-0.. haha. I'm sorry but I'm ambitious. I want everyone to eat what they said last conference, that we couldn't make it after a 0-5.

As we all know, Mark Caguioa is resting due to his injury. If my memory serves me right, Junthy Valenzuela, Raffy Reavis, and Billy Mamaril can't play yet. So, how can we make it against Alaska later?

One answer, the NEVER SAY DIE attitude. :)

This brought us to the finals, and it can bring us to a 3-3 if the team and the fans stick to the battlecry.

I haven't seen a team like Ginebra. They don't fall easily. No. It will take a lot of effort to bring Ginebra down with its million fans and its fighting spirit. Most teams give up after getting injuries or having more loses than wins. Ginebra doesn't care about those. It does not give up. So what if we don't start well? As I said before it's not how we start, It's how we finish.

I don't know what else to say, to be honest. I am now feeling cold. I'm so nervous yet confident that my team will do everything that it can to win. So, gotta go. The game's gonna start already.. GO GINEBRA! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Philippine Basketball Association

Why make a blog dedicated to the Philippine Basketball Association? Well, here's the answer: I LOVE PBA. It makes me happy. It makes me free from ennui. (check your dictionaries. ;p) It makes my life a more blissful one and eliminates stress, at least when I witness the wonderful plays of players from different teams.

Why love PBA? Well, because it is the thing which inspires me most. It is the thing that makes me want to watch television. It makes me learn from the mistakes of the teams. It makes me feel good. It makes me happy for an unknown reason. Also, I can relate basketball to real life situations.

Now if you ask me if I play basketball don't be surprised if I'd say no. I'm not an athletic person. But people think that I am, even a P.E. teacher thought that I was an athlete. Some even say that I'm even more knowledgable in the PBA than boys of my age which is so weird since I got addicted to PBA in January of this year.

I love PBA, the teams, the coaches, the players, the plays. I have my favorites but I love them all as a whole. I don't hate a single team, I simply have my more preferred and less preferred. Need I explain more? ;)

Philippine Cup Opening!

To be honest, I was very frustrated. I was waiting from 3:00 but it started so late. I came from my retreat and was tired, of course. I was so sleepy too. But I just couldn't miss it! It was my first time to watch the opening.

It was fun. Well, quite boring to be honest. But fun because I missed PBA so much and wanted to see them all back. I looked for Macky, Jondan, and PJ first. Then, the rest. ;p

Makisig Morales was there, and also the little Red Lions from San Beda Mendiola (why can't they get the Little Red Lions/Indians from SBCA? Why Mendiola? The kids from our school are much cuter.. ;p) Also a player from Ateneo, is he in highschool? The ambassador from US was also there! Her name is Christy Kenny I think? I'm sorry for the spelling if it's wrong, all I know is her name's pronunciation and her face.

The parade went on and on and on. Pokwang's muse for Coca-Cola. She had her grand entrance. Iwa Moto was muse for Ginebra. Iya Villania was muse for Purefoods. SMB had 3 muses. Shocking. :)) It was Rufa Mae Quinto for Air21. I can't remember the others..

I saw the new players. Was shocked to see PF's lineup so different. Felt weird seeing Rain or Shine. I'm not used to that name. I'm used to saying Welcoat or Dragons or the team that beat PF 2 times last conference. (frustrating.. super.)

I watched the game. It was CCT vs. TNT. I missed PBA so much. But, unfortunately, I was unable to finish the game because I fell asleep. ;p

So glad PBA's back! Hope to see Purefoods and Ginebra fighting for the AFC Championship trophy! :)
